Lori’s Story
I grew up in Kentucky with a strong love for the outdoors. I had a natural curiosity about the species of trees and forest ecosystems. I studied Science and Biology at Western Kentucky University.
Afterwards, I moved to Montana to serve two terms for Americorps educating youth and building trails in the Wilderness. In 2015, I started working as a Sawmill Operator in Montana with some of the finest woodworkers I knew as my teachers. I began making cutting boards with small scraps of hardwood I collected at the mill.
One year later, I moved to Yosemite National Park to be a Naturalist Guide. I now have the freedom and time to create handcrafted functional art in my woodshop right at home in Groveland, CA.
